A National Award Celebrating Kids who Choose to be Kind Leaders
Jessie Hansen is currently in her doctorate degree researching the power of kindness in children. Instead of a dissertation, her progam lets the students do a project. Jessie wanted a project that would be truly valuable for the world and would work for her degree progam but also something she could dedicate her life's work to for the next 20 years!
As a school assembly speaker for the last 19 years, she has seen the power of kindness in schools all over the U.S. and knew that if we could find a way to make kindness exciting and fun, more kids would be motivated to make kindness a part of their identity- and that's what we need more of in our world. If humans identify as kind, we will definitely have more compassion, empathy, patience, and kindness in our world.
